Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Research
Multiple Sclerosis Research at the Joyce D. and Andrew J. Mandell Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care and Neuroscience Research
The primary focus of research at the Joyce D. and Andrew J. Mandell Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care and Neuroscience Research is to improve the everyday life and quality of life of our patients. Our MS Researchers study the consequences of the disease and novel interventions, which we integrate into our updated care models. Because of this innovative research, our patients receive expert and cutting-edge clinical care.
Our dedicated Team of MS Researchers and Fellows have over 10 years of research experience with backgrounds in neuropsychology, neurology, exercise science, public health, physical therapy, and toxicology. The Mandell MS Center Research Team is passionate about improving the lives of people living with MS. They collaborate with national and international experts in the field to design and conduct meaningful studies, which are recognized worldwide. Our patients are also part of our Research Team, serving as Patient Advisors on new technologies we develop.
To continue the growth of MS research, the Mandell Center also offers research fellowships for the advanced study of MS. Research placements for undergraduate and graduate students interested in MS are offered based on interests and availability.
How Our MS Research Studies May Benefit You
Trinity Health Of New England and the Mandell MS Center offers:
- Academic, investigator- initiated, and sponsored studies in a clinical setting: Patients with an MS diagnosis have the option to participate in studies at the same place they receive MS care. Our clinicians and researchers work together to quickly incorporate the newest protocols into your MS treatment.
- Leaders in cutting-edge research: Researchers from the Mandell MS Center lead international symposiums that focus on bridging the gap between expert researchers, clinicians, and patients with MS. We develop, test, and practice innovative treatments and comprehensive care for MS.
- Advanced care close to home: We offer you access to cutting-edge research studies designed to improve MS care in two locations across Connecticut and one in Massachusetts. Telehealth and remote studies may also be available.
We conduct innovative research studies right at the Mandell MS Center. Our Teams learn and implement the newest care models as soon as they are available, giving you the most advanced MS care options.
