Salary for Internal Medicine Residents

  • PGY-1 - $78,846
  • PGY-2 - $82,295
  • PGY-3 - $86,237

Health and Insurance Benefits

Health and Dental Insurance

  • Comprehensive health and dental coverage is available through the same plans offered to hospital employees and their families.
  • Coverage begins on the first day of employment.
  • Continued coverage may be available through COBRA upon termination.

Life Insurance

  • Group life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage equal to one times annual salary at no cost to the resident.
  • Effective following 90 days of employment.
  • Supplemental life insurance is available through payroll deduction.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

  • Provided by the hospital at no cost following 90 days of employment.

Professional Liability Insurance

  • Full professional liability coverage is provided for activities performed within the scope of residency training.

Wellness and Employee Support

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 

  • Confidential services available to residents and their immediate families.

Educational Benefits

Residents receive substantial academic support throughout training, including:

Meals and Resident Amenities

  • Free lunch is provided Monday through Friday during noon conference.

Time Off

Vacation

  • Four weeks of paid vacation annually.

Family and Medical Leave

  • Up to 16 weeks of Family and Medical Leave may be granted during a 24-month period for qualifying medical and family circumstances.

  • The program coordinator can provide housing resources and rental information.
  • Affordable housing options are available within walking distance, across the street from the hospital, or within a short 10-15 minute commute.
