Orange Bracelet Program
Setting a New Standard for Your Postpartum Care
Trinity Health Of New England is committed to reducing—and ultimately eliminating—maternal mortality in our region. As part of this mission, we are actively participating in the Orange Bracelet Program, a targeted initiative designed to improve clinical awareness and response to postpartum complications.
While most patients recover from childbirth without issue, serious complications can arise up to a year after delivery. The orange wristband, given to patients at discharge and worn for up to 12 weeks (4 months) postpartum, serves as a visual cue to healthcare teams and emergency personnel that the individual has recently given birth. It supports timely, informed care while also encouraging ongoing monitoring for maternal warning signs.
This initiative is one element of a broader strategy to enhance care coordination between Women’s Services and Emergency Services, and to educate non-obstetric healthcare providers about the unique clinical indicators associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period.
By integrating tools like the orange wristband into our systems of care, we are working together to build a safer, more responsive environment for mothers across our communities.
