Email Error Incident
June 10, 2026
Livonia, MI – Trinity Health (“Trinity”) is providing notice of a data incident that may have affected a limited number of individuals’ information related to care received at Trinity Health Of New England and other hospitals and providers within our health system.
Trinity recently learned that on April 30, 2026, an administrative workforce member sent an email communication inviting recipients to attend an annual celebration event. Unfortunately, the email communication was accidentally sent unblinded, meaning that each recipient’s email address was visible to the other recipients. Since the invitation involved a celebration for a specific population of patients with a shared diagnosis, an individual’s disease diagnosis and affiliation with Trinity Health Of New England or affiliated hospitals and providers may have also been disclosed.
Because the privacy and security of your health information is important to us, we are notifying recipients of the unblinded email invitation. In response to this mistake, we have implemented changes to administrative workflows and processes and are reviewing procedures related to email use. As an extra measure of support, we are also offering complimentary credit monitoring.
We regret that this incident occurred and apologize for any concerns associated with this notification. We take this incident seriously and are committed to protecting information.
As a precautionary measure, we are providing complimentary credit monitoring to potentially affected individuals. If you have questions about this incident or would like to enroll in these services, please contact the dedicated assistance line at 1-833-851-9765, Monday through Friday, from between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM CT, excluding holidays. Additionally, it is always prudent to review credit reports/account statements and health care statements for accuracy and report any services or charges that were not incurred to the company, provider or insurance carrier.
