About
Rebecca Newell is the Director of the Family Health Center and is a Yale University Clinical Instructor. Dr. Newell graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University 1995. She received her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh in 2000 and completed a residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve - University Hospitals of Cleveland in 2004. She went on to become the first Med/Peds Chief Resident at Case the next year. She is currently a general practitioner of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Family Health Center. Additionally, Dr. Newell supervises residents in the outpatient setting and teaches medical students, physician assistant students and nurse practitioner students. Dr. Newell’s interests include obesity, diabetes, nutrition and disparities in healthcare. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of Pediatricians and the Society of General Internal Medicine.
