About

Dr. Kurt Roberts is a board-certified surgeon specializing in minimally invasive, bariatric, and gastrointestinal surgery.

Dr. Roberts received his Medical Degree from Innsbruck Medical University in Austria. He completed a surgical residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and was Chief Resident of Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. Following his fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the Yale School of Medicine, he joined the faculty and has been an Associate Professor of Surgery since 2012. During his time at Yale, he has also served as the Program Director of the Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery Fellowship, Divisional Director of Quality and Safety, and the Associate Program Director for the Surgical Residency.

Dr. Roberts is a member of the American College of Surgeons and The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons – from who he was awarded the Recognition of Excellence Award in 2012 – the New England Surgical Society, and the Austrian Society of Surgery, amongst others.

Dr. Roberts has dedicated much of his career to bariatric and hernia surgery advancements and improving the life of individuals suffering from acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. His groundbreaking surgical techniques are known to lower the risk of postoperative complications and lead to faster, easier recovery for patients.
