About
Dr. Bagdasarian is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of the Taft School in Watertown, CT. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with a B.S. in Chemistry and then stayed in Boston to obtain his M.D. from the Tufts University School of Medicine. His residency in General Surgery was completed at the Hospital of St. Raphael, an affiliate of the Yale University School of Medicine, in New Haven, CT, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following this, Dr. Bagdasarian completed a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (Rutgers) in New Brunswick, NJ, where focus was entirely on Vascular Surgery, including training and involvement in many of the latest minimally-invasive procedures and clinical trials.
Dr. Bagdasarian is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he has been a member of multiple other General and Vascular surgical societies. Dr. Bagdasarian has given numerous presentations on vascular research and advanced techniques at both the regional and national levels during his time as a Vascular Fellow.
Dr. Bagdasarian brings with him training in both traditional open surgical procedures as well as the latest minimally invasive endovascular techniques. This often allows for vascular problems to be treated with less invasive techniques using catheters, balloons, and stents and allows patients to return to normal activities sooner than ever. He has particular interest in endovascular treatment of both abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, as well as carotid artery surgery and treatment of peripheral arterial disease.
Dr. Bagdasarian also offers treatment of varicose veins and other venous disorders, including minimally invasive ablation methods right in the office at Connecticut Vein Care. Shorter recovery times and less discomfort during recovery are the result.
