The Mercy Orthopedic Institute DIFFERENCE
- Orthopedic Surgeon Talent: Our board-certified, specially trained orthopedic surgeons provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Orthopedic Hospitalist Program: Acute care orthopedic surgeons provide coverage at Mercy 24/7, 365 days per year, consulting in the Emergency Department and on the inpatient floors. Additionally, surgical, post-operative and follow up care on the Mercy campus is offered for patients that do not have an established orthopedic surgeon.
- Orthopedic Operating Suite: Dedicated Orthopedic Operating Suite and equipment to provide greater access for orthopedic surgeries and improve OR efficiency.
- Orthopedic Inpatient Floor: An 18-bed orthopedic and neurosurgical unit with a dedicated physical therapy gym provides high-quality medical, nursing and rehabilitation care. We also provide a thorough discharge plan and arrange any necessary follow-up care.
- Rehabilitation Services: At Mercy's Rehabilitation Hospital, the region’s only hospital-based rehabilitation facility accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), we provide a broad range of outpatient and inpatient therapy to orthopedic patients.
- Joint Connection Education: The Joint Connection is a monthly educational program designed for patients who are thinking about, or preparing for, a hip, knee or shoulder replacement surgery.
- Pre-Therapy Program: In partnership with Caretenders, patients who qualify receive a home safety evaluation and/or “prehab” before surgery. The referral for this program is sent by the orthopedic provider’s office.
