About

Emily Collier, M.D. is a Thoracic Oncologist within the Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group - Department of Oncology.

Dr. Collier earned her Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School as part of the Health, Sciences and Technology (HST) program, a joint program between Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the training of physician scientists and educators. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston before serving as a Hospitalist at Newton Wellesley Hospital from 2012-2017. In 2017, Dr. Collier began a Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, and in 2020, she started a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University.

Dr. Collier, who is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, has worked on several research projects, including two with the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale. In 2015, she won the Locke Award for Excellence in Hospital Medical Education from Newton Wellesley Hospital, and also earned the Award for Notable Teaching in the Medicine Clerkship at Newton Wellesley Hospital by Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Collier has published multiple research articles and is active in professional development activities.

Along with everything I mentioned above Dr. Emily Collier is a very caring person. She listens very carefully. She always asks if we have any other questions. I say we because my husband was with me this appointment and she doesn't leave him out of the discussion carefully listens to his questions and answers them appropriately. I was truly grateful to have met my new oncologist, Dr. Collier. Each time I go in for check-ups or any medical needs, I always find comfort in the experience. It's incredibly important for patients to feel heard, and I deeply appreciate having a doctor who takes the time to listen. When a physician genuinely invests the time to understand their patients' mental and emotional journeys, it makes such a difference. I've been fortunate to have had two wonderful oncologists, and now I feel a sense of gratitude for Dr. Collier. I really value the way she spoke with me, the kindness she showed, and the options and choices she provided. Listening is essential, as only the patient truly knows the challenges they face on a daily basis. It's so reassuring when a doctor not only reviews past documentation thoroughly but also acknowledges it while outlining the steps moving forward. This thoughtful approach lays the foundation for a strong and compassionate doctor-patient relationship, and I feel fortunate to have Dr. Collier in my care.

It was my first time meeting Dr. Collier. I was impressed with her down to earth mannerism, her medical knowledge, listening skills and suggested next steps. I felt very comfortable with her.
