About

Dr. Alex S. Ha is an accomplished orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in a wide range of spinal conditions. As an attending surgeon at Advanced Orthopedics New England, he is particularly focused on treating complex spinal issues, including adult spinal deformity, scoliosis, and various types of spinal pathology affecting both adolescents and adults. His expertise spans from congenital deformities and degenerative spine conditions to revision surgeries, herniated discs, and myelopathy.

Dr. Ha’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University in 2010, followed by earning his Doctor of Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in 2015. His postdoctoral training was extensive, starting with a general surgery internship at Columbia University Medical Center in 2016, followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery, which he completed in 2020. Dr. Ha further refined his specialization with a clinical fellowship in adult and pediatric comprehensive spine surgery at Columbia, where he trained under renowned spine surgeons such as Drs. Lenke, Riew, and Lehman in 2021.

His research interests focus on improving surgical outcomes, particularly by addressing complications like proximal junctional kyphosis—a frequent issue following adult spinal deformity surgery—and optimizing global spinal alignment in these surgeries. Dr. Ha has contributed significantly to the field, publishing in numerous peer-reviewed journals and presenting his findings at prestigious national and international conferences.

As a member of professional organizations like the North American Spine Society and AO Spine North America, Dr. Ha is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of spinal surgery. His expertise and commitment to research make him a valuable resource for patients seeking treatment for complex spinal conditions.
