Timothy A Johnson, MD

Timothy Johnson, MD, attended Williams College on a National Merit Scholarship and graduated with a degree in chemistry. He completed medical school and an internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut and completed a medical oncology fellowship at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center in Seattle—two of the leading cancer research centers in the country. Dr. Johnson served as a faculty member at the University of Washington for four years following his fellowship. He also published multiple original scientific papers on novel cancer treatments in leading medical journals and his research laid the groundwork for two successful clinical trials.

Dr. Johnson was given two prestigious awards for his excellence in research and patient care, the American Society for Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award and the National Institute of Health K08 Clinical Scientist Award. Since moving from Seattle to Massachusetts in 2004, he has enjoyed working closely with patients in a general oncology and hematology practice. He believes careful listening to patients is the first step in delivering effective, compassionate care. He has enjoyed raising his family in Western Massachusetts.
