Saint Mary’s Hospital Scores another ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog Group
November 13, 2025WATERBURY, Conn. (November 13, 2025) – Saint Mary’s Hospital has once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.

The Fall 2025 “A” grade reflects Saint Mary’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing patient safety and delivering high-quality care. “Receiving an ‘A’ grade for the fall from The Leapfrog Group is a powerful affirmation of our team’s dedication to safety, which remains a cornerstone of our Mission,” said Robert Roose, MD, MPH, President, Saint Mary’s Hospital. “This recognition underscores the tireless efforts of our caregivers and staff to create a healing environment where safety is never compromised, whether through preventing harm, embracing innovation, or supporting patients and families throughout their journey.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital rating system focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries. Grades are assigned twice annually, in the spring and fall, and are based on more than 30 national performance measures.
