Saint Mary’s Hospital Named “Best Hospital” in Reader’s Choice Award
October 19, 2026WATERBURY, Conn. – For the seventh year in a row, Saint Mary’s Hospital has been named the “Best Hospital” in the Republican-American’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Contest.

The annual “Best Of” awards began in 2018 to recognize community businesses in more than 150 categories, including medical facilities and services, legal services, pets, home and garden, and more.
“Being named ‘Best Hospital’ in the Republican-American’s Readers’ Choice Awards for the seventh consecutive year is a tremendous honor,” said Robert Roose, MD, MPH, President of Acute Care for Trinity Health Of New England.
Readers select the area’s BEST local businesses and service professionals, making the honor especially meaningful. According to the Republican American, “There is no newsroom involvement in the ‘Reader’s Choice contest’,” ensuring the results truly reflect community appreciation.
The award comes during a year of continued excellence for Saint Mary’s, including the Emergency Department nursing team receiving the 2026 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award.
