Springfield, MA. (September 22, 2021) – Big Y is committed to raising awareness for the mission to end breast cancer. This October, non-profits with a mission to give back to breast cancer related causes have been selected as beneficiaries in the Big Y Community Bag Program across all store locations.

The Big Y Community Bag Program, which launched in January 2019, is a reusable community bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.

The Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center was selected as the beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Big Y stores located at 1180 Thorndike Street, Route 32, in Palmer and at 10 College Highway, Route 10, in Southampton. The Sister Caritas Cancer Center will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased as these locations in October, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.
