Saint Francis Weather Alert

Weather Plan to be activated at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28.

We are currently tracking a winter storm with snowfall ranging from 12-18” across the Trinity Health Of New England region starting before daybreak on Saturday and continuing until Saturday evening. While the track of the storm is still being determined, we should still expect commuting difficulties due to heavy snowfall and wind gusts creating low visibility and snow-covered roads.

Collins Street Parking Garage Closing

Due to the anticipated extreme weather event of Collins Street Parking Garage, the garage will be CLOSED to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and will reopen at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Vehicles parked in Collins Garage during these hours will have the ability to exit, but the entrance will be closed.

Physicians, colleagues, and those who are on-call who normally park in Collins Garage should park in Woodland Street Parking Garage (125 Woodland Street) during this time. If the Woodland Garage reaches capacity, please utilize A-Lot behind Woodland Garage. A-Lot will be kept clear for overflow parking.

All staff are asked to vacate the Woodland garage promptly upon conclusion of worked shifts in order to free up garage parking for additional colleagues.

Patients and Visitors

Patients/Visitors will be directed to go to the Valet Parking at the hospital’s main entrance, located at 114 Woodland Street.

Ride Assistance

Beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, there will be a shuttle service to provide rides if colleagues cannot get into work due to the snow, within Hartford’s city limits. If you need ride assistance, please call the Staffing Office at (860) 714-4274. Ride assistance is dependent on current road conditions. Please plan ahead and be prepared for difficult travel.

Saturday Breakfast

For colleagues working on Saturday morning, free breakfast will be provided in the cafeteria from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
