Welcome George Miller, M.D
July 19, 2021WATERBURY, Conn. (July 20, 2021) Saint Mary’s Hospital is pleased to welcome George Miller, M.D. to Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group as a surgical oncologist. Although Dr. Miller is extensively trained for most cancer surgeries, he specializes in complex surgical oncology with particular interest in cancers of the liver, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract.
Prior to joining Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group, Dr. Miller was an oncology surgeon at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center seeing patients with liver, pancreas and stomach cancers and has performed more than 300 liver resections and 200 pancreatectomies. Dr. Miller is a renowned researcher and educator in the field of cancer research. He has been recognized with several prestigious awards from organizations such as the Society of University Surgeons, the American liver Foundation and the American Association for Cancer Research, as well as the Ruth Leff Siegel Award given annually to scientists making the most important contribution to pancreas cancer research. Dr. Miller is also a highly recognized lecturer and keynote speaker in the field of cancer research and oncology surgery.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Miller received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and his Doctor of Medicine from McGill University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his residency training in General Surgery at New York University School of Medicine, followed by a trio of fellowships at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Surgical Oncology, Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Experimental Immunology.
