Saint Mary’s Hospital continues to lead the way in innovation and patient care, with the O’Brien 4 (OB4) unit being recognized as the Top Performer among 77 TogetherTeam units across 27 hospitals nationwide. “OB4 continues to carry the torch for being the top performer in this category," said Zina Ruban, DNP, RN-BC, ACM, Director of Operations, Patient Care Services. “I could not be prouder.”

O'Brien 4 team celebrates being ranked number one in falls with injury in performance outcomes.

The TogetherTeam care model uses technology to support direct care staff. The team is comprised of a bedside registered nurse, an on-site nursing assistant or licensed practical nurse (LPN) and a registered nurse who remotes into the patient’s room virtually. This model has shown to enhance both patient safety and colleague support.

According to Shawna Edwards, MSN, DNP, Chief Nursing Officer at Saint Mary's, the model improves care quality while also mentoring newer nurses through virtual RN (vRN) expertise.

The metrics for the top performing score represent a six-month rolling period that ended in April 2025.
