Your Stories: Saint Francis Endoscopy Nurses Earn National Recognition

The Saint Francis Hospital Endoscopy nursing staff was recently recognized by the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses (ABCGN) as one of five recipients of the organization’s Excellence in Professionalism Distinction Award for 2026. The national award recognizes nurses who demonstrate a commitment to excellence through the validation of their qualifications via certification.
Jing Yu, RN, Senior Clinical Advisor at Saint Francis, who serves as President of CT SGNA, accepted the 2026 Outstanding Certified Region Award on behalf of the local chapter.
The Saint Francis Gastroenterology team is highly engaged and dedicated to ongoing professional development and specialty-specific education and training. In addition to strong unit-wide participation in the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA), team members are actively involved at both the state and national levels, further advancing the profession and promoting best practices in gastroenterology nursing.
Along with national participation, the Saint Francis team is highly involved with the Connecticut SGNA, holding statewide officer positions for the CT SGNA Regional Chapter 9. Jing Yu, RN, Senior Clinical Advisor for Endoscopy at Saint Francis, serves as CT SGNA president and was on hand at the national SGNA Conference in Atlanta to accept the 2026 Outstanding Certified Region Award on behalf of the local chapter.
The Saint Francis team continues to highlight its commitment to excellence, leadership and the advancement of professional certification.
