Ivan Sarmiento, MSN, RN, Director of Emergency Services at Saint Francis Hospital, was recently honored as the inaugural Leader of the Month by the hospital’s Executive Leadership Team. Ivan earned the distinction by driving several key initiatives aimed at advancing and improving the Emergency Department at Saint Francis, including a significant increase in patient experience scores. He also celebrated his team by submitting the most Focused Colleague Recognitions, an initiative that thanks colleagues directly for their excellent work.

The newly established award recognizes managers and directors for their leadership, stewardship, and focus on growth and service excellence. Recipients are chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for demonstrating sustained improvement and modeling best practices in the areas of patient experience, Focused Colleague Recognition, StandOut, and/or revenue and expense management.
