The Saint Francis Hospital Emergency Department recently celebrated the retirement of William “Bill” Sanders, MD, who cared for the community for 42 years. After spending his entire career at Saint Francis, the team recognized Dr. Sanders for his countless moments of calm, skill, and kindness that he brought to families in their most urgent moments.
The Emergency Department team celebrated Dr. Sanders, wishing him the best in his retirement.
Dr. Sanders received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine before completing a residency at Albany Medical Center and returning to Saint Francis. Double board certified in internal medicine and emergency medicine, Dr. Sanders received a longevity award from the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Besides being a dedicated physician, Dr. Sanders has a love of all things Christmas, hosting a holiday party for his Emergency Department colleagues each year. He also produces and elaborate display of lights and decorations on his home for the holiday each year.
Thank you to Dr. Sanders for his decades of service to Saint Francis and the community we serve. Congratulations on your retirement and best wishes on your next chapter!
