Charles Clayton

Charles Clayton, monitor tech on 10-9, has been selected as the April 2024 Colleague of the Month.

Charles has been a dedicated colleague at Saint Francis since 1981, starting his career in Food and Nutrition before moving on to become a nursing assistant on several units and training as a monitor tech. He now serves as the overnight monitor tech on 10-9, where his knowledge and calm demeanor has made him not only an amazing monitor tech, but also an educator.

It was noted in his nomination that Charles plays an integral role onboarding graduate nurse residents and leading them through dysrhythmia testing. His nomination said, “every graduate nurse resident that sat with him spoke of how Charles broke things down in a way they could understand and gave them the confidence they needed to pass the test.” His nomination added that, “Charles is a real team player and well beloved on the unit.”

To conclude Charles’ nomination, his manager said, “he is an expert monitor technician, has trained and mentored staff, is cooperative with new initiatives and safety procedures, and most importantly, is kind and respectful to all.”

Congratulations, Charles!
