Mercy Nurse Recognized for Public Service Excellence

Congratulations to Mercy’s Cailene Wagner, RN, on her selection as one of ten recipients of a Howdy Award for Hospitality Excellence. The Howdy Awards are presented every year by the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau. This year’s gala, held at the Mass Mutual Center, drew more than 500 people to celebrate the Howdy Award recipients who are front-line employees in the hospitality, food service, retail, transportation, tourism, and public service industries.
Cailene joined the Mercy team in 2016 and has been a nurse in the Sister Caritas Cancer Center for the past two years, and she always put her patients and their families at the center of everything she does. In fact, she was nominated by a patient for the Howdy Award for Public Service. For her part, Cailene said while she was surprised to receive the award, she was also “honored and humbled” by the experience.
Award recipients were selected from a field of 73 finalists, a group whittled down from almost 1000 nominations by the Howdy Awards Committee.
