Saint Mary’s Physician Assistant Named PA of the Year

Congratulations to Jason Prevelige, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAPA, Emergency Department, Saint Mary’s for being named ConnAPA’s 2025 PA of the Year!

Jason received the award at the 38th Annual Charter Oak Conference, held March 23 – 26 in Mystic. The conference is one of the leading CME conferences for Physicians Assistants, attracting attendees from across the country.
Jason was recognized for his dedication to advancing and advocating for the PA profession at both the state and national levels. He has served two terms as Connecticut Academy of PAs (ConnAPA) President and was named American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) President and Chair of the Board of Directors in July 2024. Additionally, he has served as the Legislative Committee Chair for ConnAPA for the past decade, working to champion changes to statutes and regulations that enhance patient access to care and reduce administrative burdens, enabling PAs to fully utilize their education and license.
In addition to his clinical practice and advocacy, Jason also serves as a faculty member of the Sacred Heart University PA program, the Quinnipiac University PA program, and is a preceptor for PAs, advanced practice nursing, and medical students from several universities. “A natural leader, Jason continually acknowledges the mentors and supporters who have guided him, embodying humility alongside his expertise and passion,” states a release by the Connecticut Academy of PAs. “His dedication, influence, and unwavering commitment to his colleagues and the profession make him highly deserving for the prestigious PA of the Year award.”
