Colorectal cancer remains one of the most common cancers. The American Cancer Society estimates that 158,850 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with colon and rectal cancer in 2026, and 55,230 will die from the disease. The number of people who have died from colorectal cancer has steadily decreased since the mid-1980s due to increased screening and changing lifestyles

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. To mark the national effort, colleagues in the gastroenterology and endoscopy departments purchased special t-shirts and pins and gathered in the 299 lobby for a photo.
