Nicole Steullet Named Johnson’s Latest Colleague of the Month

Nicole Steullet, LMSW, MPhil, Johnson Memorial Hospital's Colleague of the Month for April. 

A Johnson colleague for the past two years, Nicole is recognized for her exceptional compassion and dedication to our Core Values of Reverence and Safety, in caring for a young patient.

Several months ago, an adolescent patient arrived in the Emergency Department (ED) for a mental health evaluation on a weekend evening, just as the scheduled crisis coverage had ended for the day. Because a crisis worker wouldn’t be available until the next day, Nicole was contacted to see if she could help. Without hesitation, she volunteered to come in within the hour to ensure the patient would not have to spend the night in the ED.

Nicole went above and beyond by stepping in on her personal time, bringing both her professional expertise and genuine compassion to a difficult situation. Having an established rapport with the family, she was able to create a safe and trusting environment that helped the patient openly share their thoughts and feelings, while providing meaningful support.
