The selection for this honor is based on the nominations of colleagues who recognized Ryan for consistently "exceeding expectations, demonstrating excellence in job performance, and delivering exceptional service."

A Johnson colleague for the last five years, Ryan is not only known for connecting with his patients, but also for treating every person he meets with respect and dignity regardless of their role or background. According to colleagues, Ryan’s compassionate approach “fosters a welcoming and inclusive care environment, where everyone feels valued and heard.” In one nomination form, a colleague wrote that Ryan “tailors group sessions to meet the diverse needs of our patients, making their behavioral health inpatient experience so much more gratifying.” Ryan has also been instrumental in furthering Johnson’s community engagement activities, including the organization of the recent Women’s Empowerment Fair in celebration of Women’s History Month.
