Your Stories: Saint Francis Gastroenterology Nurses Achieve Advanced Certification

The Section of Gastroenterology, along with their Colorectal Surgery colleagues, are celebrating the accomplishments of six Endoscopy Suite gastroenterology nurses who recently completed the Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse Credential (CGRN) certification by the American Board of Certification.

Ann Russo, BSN, RN, CGRN; Holly Sanzo, BSN, RN, CGRN; Carmen Soto, ADN, RN, CGRN; Karin Tsiongas, BSN, RN, CGRN; Kathy Vinci, RN, CGRN; and Jing Yu, MSN, RN, CGRN; all completed the voluntary certification, demonstrating their commitment to GI nursing excellence and their patients.

“These nurses are wonderful, and all take great pride in what they do,” said Carol Petruff, M.D., Section Chief of Gastroenterology. “They take excellent care of our patients. They are highly trained to assist in routine and complex cases, and always strive for excellence."
