Lisa Sampson-Phelan, unit secretary in the NICU, has been selected as the June 2024 Colleague of the Month at Saint Francis. Lisa is being recognized for her commitment to her colleagues, her team, and the Trinity Health Of New England Mission.
Lisa “Sam” Sampson-Phelan has been selected as the June 2024 Colleague of the Month.
Better known as “Sam,” she is an integral part of the NICU. In her nomination form, it was noted that Sam “is always busy, she never stops. She is aware of everything going on around her and goes above and beyond to be supportive to patients, parents, and staff.” Sam transferred to the unit secretary role three years ago and immediately made it a priority to learn the needs of the unit, quickly becoming able to anticipate any needs that may arise. Sam ensures that all supplies are available and stocked appropriately and is always happy to help both colleagues and families.
Sam takes on additional tasks outside her job description and will change her schedule to accommodate others, including covering extra hours whenever needed. Her nomination noted, “Sam is humble in her duties, making it easy to take her for granted. She lives out our Mission and goes above and beyond to meet the needs at hand.”
Congratulations Sam!
