Saint Francis Announces Colleague of the Month Winner

Andene Blidgen, Unit Secretary on 9-9, has been selected as the March 2024 Colleague of the Month.

Andene has been with Saint Francis for 16 years, starting her career as a nursing assistant before transitioning to the role of unit secretary. She recently cross trained as a monitor technician and assists with open shifts whenever she can. Andene’s nominating manager said, “Andene takes on any role we need her to, and she does it with dedication and excellence. She seamlessly adapts to new challenges, demonstrating her continuous commitment to our unit’s success.”

Andene is often recognized as the “face of 9-9” because she is the first person people see when they walk off the elevator. Her cheerful personality and sense of humor create a comforting first impression for those visiting the unit. Andene’s manager also recognized “her ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues throughout the hospital. She is very resourceful and utilizes her extensive network of people to solve any problem that arises. This ingenuity makes her an invaluable asset to our team.”

Andene’s nomination concluded by saying, “She transcends the secretary role, consistently exceeding the required responsibilities of her job. Her contributions have a lasting and positive impact on our unit and the hospital at large. She is a role model and an inspiration to us all.”
