The Flame Award recognizes gastroenterology (GI) and endoscopy units that demonstrate a commitment to infection prevention, positive patient outcomes, and a supportive and educational work environment for all staff members. The award provides a roadmap for what is considered an exceptional work environment in a GI/endoscopy nursing unit.

“The Saint Francis endoscopy team is an amazing group of talented and dedicated individuals who provide high-quality care to patients and embrace up-to-date monthly educational opportunities,” said Lauri Santy, BS, MSN, RN, Endoscopy Nurse Manager, who submitted the story.

The department was fortunate to have five of its Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurses (CGRN) attend the course and accept the award.
