Saint Francis has been recognized for clinical excellence in several areas by Healthgrades, the leading resource consumer use to find a hospital or doctor. Saint Francis was named one of Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Outpatient Orthopedics and America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgeries. Saint Francis also earned Five-Star ratings for Outpatient Total Knee Replacement, Outpatient Total Hip Replacement for the 12th straight year, Treatment of Heart Failure for the 9th consecutive year, Prostate Removal Surgery, and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery for the 3rd year in a row. Saint Francis was among the top 5 percent in the nation for Outpatient Joint Replacement, Outpatient Orthopedics, and Prostate Surgery.

These achievements place Saint Francis in the upper echelon of hospitals nationally for specialty care and reflect the organization’s commitment to consistently delivering the best care possible.

“Being recognized by Healthgrades underscores the high quality of care that patients receive here at Saint Francis Hospital,” said Dan Moen, Acting President, Saint Francis. “It is part of our Mission to serve as a transforming, healing presence in our community, and these distinctions show our continued commitment to providing world class care to our patients. Patient-centered care is at the forefront of our thinking at all times, and being named among the best in the United States highlights that dedication.”

Healthgrades evaluates hospitals solely on clinical outcomes: risk-adjusted mortality and complications. By focusing on what matters most, patient outcomes, Healthgrades ratings provide critical feedback for both patients and hospitals. By offering easy access to objective performance measures, Healthgrades gives consumers the information they need to find a hospital that excels in providing the care they need. And, by shining a light on strengths and weaknesses, Healthgrades ratings help direct hospitals to opportunities for clinical improvement. The 2024 hospital assessment evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 35 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top performers.
