Your Stories: Robin Shaw, RN, Retires After 30 Years of Service to Saint Francis
The team on 3-5 celebrated Robin Shaw (center) for her retirement after a 30-year-career at Saint Francis.

After 30 years of service to Saint Francis, Robin Shaw, RN, retired at the end of March. She began her career in the Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai before spending the last 25 years on the 3-5 Interventional Cardiology Unit at Saint Francis.

Robin was an incredibly supportive colleague to all and helped to train many new staff members on 3-5. Over the years, she held many roles including charge nurse and preceptor, and floated to various units during the COVID-19 pandemic. To finish up her career on 3-5, Robin was the dedicated Call Nurse, making pre-procedure phone calls, tracking lab work, values, and medications to ensure patients were ready on the day of their procedure.

“Robin will be extremely missed by her 3-5 team, physicians, and cardiac colleagues,” said Lindsay Marsh, RN, Nurse Manager, Interventional Cardiology, who submitted the recognition. “We wish her the best for her retirement and the travel she will get to enjoy!”
