Saint Francis Announces Colleague of the Month Winner

Valdemar Machado, CNA, has been selected as the February 2024 Colleague of the Month at Saint Francis.

Valdemar Machado, CNA, has been selected as the February 2024 Colleague of the Month. Valdemar, who works on 3-9 Pre/Post-Ambulatory Surgery, is being recognized for his commitment to colleagues, patients, and the Trinity Health Of New England Mission.

Valdemar is the morning CNA on 3-9 and is usually the first face patients see before surgery. He is pleasant, kind, and respectful of everyone who walks through the door. Valdemar exhibits the Core Value of Reverence every day he is in the hospital. He goes about his day always knowing what needs to be done, with little or no prompting, rounding on all departments and helping on any of the surgical units.

In his nomination, it was noted that “whether he is bringing in a pre-op patient, moving stretchers, or discharging patients, Val is always warm and welcoming to both patients and colleagues. He never complains and is always hard working.”

Valdemar excels in his role and often knows the answer to any question. His manager concluded his nomination by saying, “Val is an asset not only to 3-9, but for Saint Francis.”
