Saint Francis Hospital has been named a 2023 Human Experience (HX) National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality ® winner by Press Ganey. This award is part of Press Ganey’s annual ranking of the top hospitals and health systems in the country, according to performance in nursing quality in the category of Academic Medical Center.
As a winner of the Press Ganey HX NDNQI Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality®, Saint Francis is one of seven health care organizations nationally to be honored for providing outstanding nursing quality. Press Ganey works with more than 41,000 healthcare facilities in its mission to reduce patient suffering and enhance caregiver resilience to improve the overall safety, quality, and experience of care.
As one of 189 Academic Medical Centers in the country, Saint Francis reports data to Press Ganey on several metrics around patient outcomes including pain assessment (neonatal), fall rate, unassisted fall rate, CLABSI, CAUTI, and pressure injury prevalence rate. Press Ganey also looks at metrics in nursing including RN skill mix, the percentage of agency employment utilized, and RN and nursing support turnover.
“We are proud to be honored by Press Ganey, an achievement that only a few hospitals across the country earn, and see our nursing staff recognized for the compassionate, skilled, and dedicated care they proved our patients and families every day,” said Dan Moen, Acting President, Saint Francis. “This award is a testament to the incredible commitment by our nurses, despite today’s overwhelming healthcare challenges, to provide Mission-based, whole-person care to all of our patients.”
“It is a testament to our nurses that we receive external validation on the good work being done at Saint Francis,” said Lisa Zapatka, RN, Regional Chief Nursing Officer, Trinity Health Of New England. “This recognition demonstrates our culture and commitment to quality and acknowledges our entire nursing community and the work they do to provide essential care that promotes positive patient outcomes through collaboration, teamwork, and dedication.”
