April 18, 2024Categories: Awards and Recognition

Members of the Respiratory Department at Mercy Medical Center gathered in the O’Hara Conference Room for a special tea for Bernadette Waters on March 29. Known to many as “Bonnie,” colleagues came together to celebrate her 44-year career at Mercy and wish her well as she enters her next phase – retirement. Mercy colleagues from all disciplines stopped by to express their thanks for her service and wish her luck in her retirement.
Bonnie began her career as a Respiratory Therapist at the former Mercy Hospital in October of 1979, and she maintained that role for the entirety of her career. “Over the years, Bonnie has touched many lives with her compassion and advocacy both inside and outside of her role at Mercy. We will miss her but we also wish her the best in retirement,” said Maria Fontaine, BS, RRT, CPFT, Manager, Respiratory Therapy/Pulmonary Lab, who also submitted the recognition.
