About 75 people turned out for a special educational session about lung disease at Connecticut State Community College Asnuntuck in Enfield.
Mercy’s Laki Rousou, M.D., addresses attendees at lung disease session.
Sponsored by Trinity Health Of New England in partnership with the American Lung Association (ALA), the event’s theme was “Envisioning a World Without Lung Disease.”
Speakers at the session focused on the four national initiatives identified by the ALA – defeat lung cancer, access to quality and affordable healthcare, champion for clean air for all, and create a tobacco-free future. Attendees also visited 11 vendor tables during the networking period.
“This was the first in-person event with CE credit for medical professionals that we’ve offered in partnership with the ALA since COVID, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive,” said Ashley LeBlanc, BSN, RN, Regional Service Lines Nurse Manager. “We are also grateful to Asnuntuck for donating space for this event which allowed us to offer it at no cost to attendees.”
