Colleagues from Trinity Health Of New England recently participated in the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Farmers Market in Rocky Hill, joining veterans, families, local organizations and community partners for an afternoon focused on wellness, connection and community engagement. The event provided a valuable opportunity to meet veterans where they are, learn about their needs and share resources available to support their health and well-being.
Community Health Nurse Taylor Kelly, RN, represented Trinity Health Of New England at a recent Department of Veterans Affairs event in Rocky Hill.
Representing Trinity Health Of New England were Jacob Diogostine, Regional Coordinator for Community Health and Well-Being and Taylor Kelly, RN, Community Nurse. Throughout the event, they spoke with veterans and their families about health care services available through Trinity Health Of New England, with a special focus on resources offered through the Rocky Hill Access Center. Many attendees were interested in learning about health care options available close to home and appreciated having the opportunity to connect directly with Trinity Health Of New England representatives.
Taylor also provided complimentary blood pressure screenings, giving attendees a chance to check in on their health and ask questions about preventive care. These conversations often led to broader discussions about staying healthy, accessing primary care and specialty services and connecting with community resources.
In addition to sharing information about health care services, Jacob and Taylor highlighted Trinity Health Of New England’s Veterans Rowing Program. The program generated interest among attendees looking for opportunities to stay active, build camaraderie and engage with fellow veterans.
Participation in events like the Veterans Farmers Market helps strengthen relationships within the community while ensuring veterans are aware of the many programs, services and support systems available to them throughout the region.
