The Trinity Health Of New England regional stroke team was on hand at a recent Hartford Athletic game to help educate the community, provide resources and information, and celebrate stroke survivors for Team Up Against Stroke Night at Trinity Health Stadium.
Stroke survivors and their familes took part in the pregame ceremonies.
Several members of the regional stroke team staffed a booth on the stadium concourse where they spoke to game attendees about how to recognize symptoms of a stroke and the importance of “BE FAST.”
BE FAST is an acronym that stands for Balance, Eyes, Face, Arm, Speech, and Time – recognizing these multiple signs of stroke and getting treatment quickly can prevent death or disability.
Seven stroke survivors who received treatment and additional care through Trinity Health Of New England were honored before the game, participating in the pregame ceremonies and the National Anthem.
