World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated annually during the first week of August. This year’s theme highlights the importance of providing continuous support to breastfeeding mothers, empowering them to reach their breastfeeding goals and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable world.

Saint Mary’s Hospital held several events including a lunch and learn webinar hosted by Nest Collaborative in the Sisters Dining Room, and colleagues staffed a table with breastfeeding resources and trivia board in the main lobby throughout the week. Additionally, a “sip and paint” morning session was held at WIC Waterbury.

In Springfield, Mercy Medical Center’s Lactation Team participated in a community gathering with raffles, goodies and refreshments at the East Forest Park Library.
