March 8 marked International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Collaboration is a key driver in the International Women’s Day movement, highlighting collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity.
Colleagues at Saint Mary's Hospital gathered to mark International Women's Day.
The theme for 2025 was “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment” calling out for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind.
The first International Women’s Day was held in March 1911, but it wasn’t until 1975 when the United Nations celebrated International Women’s Day for the first time.
Women around the world marked the day in various ways, including campaigns, events, rallies, lobbying and even festivals and parties. Throughout Trinity Health Of New England, hospitals, offsite locations and Trinity Health Of New England Mobile Healthcare paused to take group photos of their women colleagues.
Colleagues who were unable to attend the group photos or those who are located at a Medical Group or outpatient facility are also encouraged to share their photos! Submit your photo by clicking here.
