When it comes to patient care in the hospital setting, rehabilitation plays a vital role in supporting recovery, restoring function and promoting independence. At Saint Mary’s Hospital, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Department embodies the Trinity Health Of New England Mission and Core Values through its commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

The Saint Mary's Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation team.

The Saint Mary’s inpatient rehabilitation team is an essential part of the interdisciplinary care team, bringing a unique and comprehensive perspective to each patient’s care journey by focusing on functional mobility, independence, communication and activities of daily living. The team helps patients maximize their abilities, enhance their quality of life and achieve the best possible outcomes during their hospitalization.

Through collaboration, expertise and commitment to patient-centered care, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Department helps build stronger futures for patients every day, supporting their recovery and preparing them for a successful transition beyond the hospital setting.

This year, National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, observed September 14-20, highlights the theme “Building Futures Through Rehabilitation,” as designated by the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA). The week serves as an opportunity to recognize physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and other rehabilitation professionals whose expertise empowers patients to regain function, improve quality of life and achieve greater independence.
