The Women and Infants Center at Saint Mary’s Hospital received a thoughtful donation from The United Church of Christ Southbury, bringing comfort and practical support to families in need. The church generously provided diaper bags designed to help underprivileged parents prepare for life at home with a newborn.

Each bag is carefully assembled with essential items, including wipes, toys, clothing, a book, a blanket, hats and shampoo. A selection of pink, blue and gender-neutral options ensures that every family can receive a bag that meets their needs. A note is also included inside, offering patients the opportunity to share a message of thanks with the church.

“These diaper bags provide more than supplies. They offer reassurance and dignity during a time that can feel overwhelming,” said Zully Santana, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).  “For many families, this support helps ease stress so they can focus on bonding with their baby and establishing healthy routines.”

Staff are encouraged to distribute the bags at their discretion, helping ensure they reach families who will benefit most. This meaningful partnership highlights the power of community generosity and reinforces a shared commitment to compassionate, patient centered care.
