Comprehensive Women’s Health Center Holds Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show

Earlier this month, the Karl J. Krapek, Sr. Women’s Comprehensive Women’s Health Center at Saint Francis Hospital held a Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show. The event was a vibrant and educational occasion, bringing the community together in support of breast health. With over 70 people in attendance, the event included music, raffles, vendors, and a photobooth complete with props.
The Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show was highlighted by a panel discussion with Saint Francis providers (L to R) David Grew, MD, MPH; Karishma Mehra, MD; Sasha Douglas, MD; and Christina Metcalf, MD.
In addition to the fun festivities, the event was highlighted by a panel discussion featuring Saint Francis providers. Christina Metcalf, MD, Division Director of Breast Surgery; David Grew, MD, MPH, Medical Director, Radiation Oncology; Karishma Mehra, MD, Cancer Genetics and Prevention; and Sasha Douglas, MD, Breast Surgeon, all spoke about the importance of breast health and early detection, offering insights to spark thoughtful questions and meaningful conversations.
Following the panel, local businesses showcased their unique clothing lines, featuring stylish apparel for both women and men. A special highlight was the participation of the Women’s Auxiliary Gift Shop at Saint Francis, which presented a beautiful selection of clothing.
The Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show not only celebrated beauty and resilience but also underscored the power of community collaboration in raising awareness and supporting those impacted by breast cancer.
