Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz joined colleagues from the Comprehensive Women's Health Center and the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Saint Francis in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Saint Francis hosted PinkLink on Saturday, October 25, offering free screening mammograms for underinsured and uninsured women at the Karl J. Krapek, Sr. Comprehensive Women’s Health Center. This year, the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center provided over 25 mammograms via PinkLink, offering a crucial step in proactive care to members of the community who may otherwise not have access.
These free mammogram events support the Saint Francis Mission to ensure equitable health care services for all, regardless of geographic location, socioeconomic circumstances, or insurance status. PinkLink is funded through donations, including a generous and impactful partnership with the Charlotte Johnson Hollfelder Foundation. The program launched in 2012 and in just the last five years, has provided over 400 free mammograms for women in the local community.
