Michael Trevisani, MD, MBA, CPE, FASCRS, FACHE has been named Interim Chief Medical Officer of Saint Francis Hospital. A driven healthcare leader with extensive experience across complex, integrated hospital and outpatient environments, Dr. Trevisani joins us after serving at other Trinity Health facilities, including alongside Jen Misajet, RN, Interim Chief Nursing Officer.

Michael Trevisani, MD, MBA, CPE, FASCRS, FACHE has been named Interim Chief Medical Officer of Saint Francis Hospital.

Most recently, Dr. Trevisani held the position of Interim Chief Clinical Officer at Mount Carmel Health, where he oversaw physician accountability by helping design and implement metrics, structures and performance frameworks to drive clinical and operational excellence. He developed, built and operationalized clinical programs aligned with organization goals to elevate overall standard of care, advancing systemwide initiatives while balancing day-to-day operational demands and long-term strategic priorities.

Dr. Trevisani also served as Interim Chief Medical Officer at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital and Chief Clinical Officer of Trinity Health New York. He led initiatives that increased the Leapfrog Patient Safety Grade at St. Joseph’s, including reorganized Situation Now and Action Plan (SNAP) Rounds to highlight device utilization of Foley catheter and central lines, decreasing CLABSI and CAUTI. He developed a Cardiovascular ED program to facilitate throughput, established a working Medical Staff Physician Scorecard, and reduced inpatient length of stay.

A colorectal surgeon, Dr. Trevisani earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida.

Throughout his career, Dr. Trevisani has demonstrated strong leadership in physician collaboration, recruitment, development and growth of new and existing service lines and quality management. He is adept at driving culture change, leading integration initiatives and aligning operational improvements with the delivery of patient-centered care. We are excited for Dr. Trevisani to employ his collaborative, team-based approaches to help us drive forward in achieving process and outcome excellence.
