The Saint Francis Hospital CLS Laboratory team works quietly, precisely, and relentlessly – never seeking the spotlight, but serving behind the scenes to power decisions and diagnoses for patients. Lab Appreciation Week took place April 20-26, and the Saint Francis team proudly celebrated the dedicated professionals who make it all happen – technologists, specimen processors, phlebotomists, pathologists, and pathologist assistants.

The Laboratory Team participated in several activities during Lab Appreciation Week.

“You are the heartbeat of the hospital,” said Nirav Rajpura, Supervisor, Clinical Services, Inpatient Phlebotomy at Saint Francis. “Every result you deliver, every sample you process, every answer you uncover, impacts lives. You are problem solvers and silent heroes who keep patient care moving forward with excellence and integrity.”

The team was joined by vendors who showed their appreciation and support through engaging lunch and learn sessions, and thanked Panera Bread and the Auxiliary Gift Shop for generously supporting the celebration.

The Lab Team brought incredible energy, fun, and team spirit to the celebration with various activities throughout the week, including a wildly fun Scooby-Doo costume contest, an adorable and nostalgic “Match the Baby” game, a playful and surprising round of “Find the Boss,” a cupcake competition, and the exciting selection of “Best Department Mascot,” who keeps the lab full of laughs and team pride.

Kelly Garcia, Microbiology Supervisor, took the lead in organizing the Lab Week celebrations with creativity, heart, and joy. Kelly’s efforts brought much excitement and unity to the team, and they are grateful for her leadership and vision!

“We also sincerely thank our leadership team for encouraging and supporting these celebrations,” added Nirav. “Your commitment to recognizing the people who keep this hospital running does not go unnoticed.”

Gratitude goes to every member of the Lab Team. Your accuracy, your dedication, and your compassion may happen behind the scenes, but the impact of your work is font and center in every patient outcome. Happy Lab Week!
