The Race in the Park has become the largest fundraiser in the state to support cutting-edge breast cancer research, with 100 percent of the funds raised remaining in Connecticut, providing support for research and education initiatives across the state. Since the Race in the Park began two decades ago, more than $4.6 million has been raised and 113 grants have been provided.

The Race in the Park offers a 5K run, a 4K/1 mile walk, and two Kids’ Fun Runs, along with food trucks, a silent auction and raffle, merchandise tent, and informational and educational tables.

“We are so grateful for CT BHI and their dedication to providing equitable and accessible care across our state,” said Powell-Stafford, who joined other health care leaders from around the state as honorary co-chairs for the 2025 race. “Saint Francis is proud to partner with CT BHI in the fight against breast cancer, and we are thankful for their contributions that help us provide the very best care to the communities we are blessed to serve.”
