Saint Francis Holds Ribbon Cutting for New LINAC in Cancer Center
March 18, 2026Categories: Organizational Updates
Saint Francis Hospital recently celebrated the acquisition of a new, state-of-the-art TrueBeam linear accelerator (LINAC) with a ribbon cutting. This state-of-the-art radiation machine offers innovative imaging techniques, individualized treatment options for each patient’s specific needs, and optimized workflows for providers, allowing advanced treatments, close to home.
Saint Francis held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new LINAC in the Cancer Center.
The LINAC provides high-precision cancer treatment, enabling clinicians to treat a wider array of cancer cases with a diverse range of radiation therapies. With the ability to offer new treatments, providers at Saint Francis will be able to deliver life-changing care to even more patients in the greater Hartford region.
Through a collaborative effort between Cancer Center leadership, including David Grew, MD, Medical Director for Radiation Oncology, Saint Francis administration, and the Saint Francis Foundation, the LINAC was made possible in part through the generosity of a grateful patient.
