Palliative Care Team gathers in Saint Francis Hospital rotunda during National Hospice, Palliative and Home Care Month

Saint Francis Hospital is recognizing their Palliative Care Team during National Hospice, Palliative and Home Care Month “for the compassionate and excellent care they each provide to our sickest patients and their families,” said Michael Grey, M.D., MPH, Chair of Medicine at Saint Francis.

Palliative care offers specialized, compassionate care focusing on relief from pain or symptoms during a period of serious illness. The palliative care team is made up of experts, including providers, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, dedicated to providing patients and their families comfort and aim to improve quality of life. The team is committed to working with patients and families as well as other providers that make up the entire care team to ensure patients are receiving an added layer of support during challenging times.
