Your Stories: Mount Sinai Unit Practice Council Hosts Pumpkin Decorating Contest
November 1, 2024Categories: Colleague Corner
The Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital Unit Practice Council held a pumpkin decorating contest as a fun teambuilding activity to celebrate the season.
Jenna Dorian, OT, won the Mount Sinai Unit Practice Council Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
Research shows a simple activity like painting a pumpkin has great benefits such as decreasing anxiety and agitation, improving memory, motor skills, and brain connectivity, and increasing confidence and self-expression. This is a great way to gather outside of work and spend time with colleagues. The Unit Practice Council created a beautiful display of pumpkins for all to enjoy, including the patients. The rules were simple – decorate any size pumpkin using paint and non-edible supplies, with no carving allowed.
Colleagues, patients, and visitors were able to vote on their favorite pumpkin. The winner was Jenna Dorian, OT. Congratulations!
